It’s been awhile since our Director of Revenue Management
Services, Nicole Adair, CRME, has joined
me, and I wanted to see how our clients were doing amid the
pandemic. Good news is, not too bad.
Key takeaways:
Staycation market properties are seeing crazy demand, rate growth
YOY.
Couple of hotels have hit last year’s actuals halfway through the
month.
Some hotels struggling with demand, so big focus on working with
marketing, sales, operations to focus on demand generation and
price for any demand coming their way.
Silos among departments is coming down—‘It’s crunch time for these
hotels.’
Some revenue management focused on: length of stay, pushing rate,
and maximizing demand.
Others, the focus is on marketing, to see where any demand signals
are coming from, and how to reach those guests, drive that demand
and be priced appropriately.
Data looking at? Weather, i.e. the seasonal hurricanes and fires
are impacting demand, evacuation routes, and government
restrictions.
Advice for hoteliers? Remember what caused the most issues when
this hit in the first place and have a plan how to react if and
when things flare up again this fall.
